Job summary

Primark Stores Limited in Dublin is seeking a Trainee Product Technologist to develop knowledge of fit, grading, and quality processes while supporting supplier communications. You’ll gain hands-on experience across product development, testing approvals, sustainability initiatives and factory operations with a collaborative team.

You will learn to manage workflows, participate in audits and quality reviews, and contribute to continuous improvement across the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Support product development activities by learning fit, grading and GMP/GPSR requirements.
• Assist with fit sessions, product reviews, testing approvals and quality compliance tasks.
• Build knowledge of fibres, fabrics, sustainability, manufacturing and factory operations.
• Develop supplier communication and relationship management with Primark quality systems and processes.
• Support workload management, KPI delivery, standardisation and continuous improvement.
• Communicate with Buying teams, suppliers and stakeholders to inform decision-making.

What You’ll Do as a Trainee Product Technologist

We want you to feel challenged and inspired. Here, you’ll develop your skills across a range of responsibilities:

• Support product development activities by building knowledge of fit, sealing routes, GPSR requirements, garment construction, grading, sizing, and risk assessment processes.
• Assist with fit sessions, product reviews, testing approvals, and compliance activities, developing an understanding of product testing standards, claims, and quality requirements.
• Build knowledge of fibres, fabrics, materials, sustainability initiatives, manufacturing processes, and factory operations to support informed product decisions.
• Develop strong supplier communication and relationship management skills while gaining experience with Primark quality systems and operational processes.
• Support departmental objectives through effective workload management, administrative support, KPI delivery, standardisation projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Communicate effectively with Buying teams, suppliers, and key stakeholders, gathering relevant information, solving problems, supporting quality-focused decision-making, and representing Quality Assurance in department meetings.
