Job summary

Axis Environmental Services is seeking a Trainee Field Services Technician to join our field team in Limerick. This role is ideal for graduates or trainees and offers structured training across environmental monitoring, water sampling, noise monitoring, air quality monitoring, and other field services, with travel across Ireland.

Based from Limerick, you will work with experienced technicians, learn to operate monitoring equipment, collect samples, and support environmental compliance services.

Qualifications

• Full driving licence valid for Ireland travel.
• Strong attention to detail and organised work approach.
• Good communication, numeracy and basic computer skills.
• Interest in environmental monitoring and field work.
• Willingness to travel regularly and occasional overnight stays.
• Comfortable outdoors and following training in varying weather.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Travel to client sites across Ireland to support monitoring projects.
• Assist with environmental noise surveys and occupational air/noise monitoring.
• Collect groundwater, surface water, stormwater and wastewater samples.
• Install, service and retrieve ambient air and dust monitoring equipment.
• Support Legionella sampling and other monitoring activities.
• Assist with site safety, sampling documentation and data entry.
• Prepare equipment, sample containers and project documentation.
• Label, preserve and transport samples per procedures.
• Complete field sheets and photographs; maintain records.
• Contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives.
