Job summary

The Defence Forces (Óglaigh na hÉireann) are seeking a Trainee Chef to begin a high‑discipline culinary career while serving the country. You will start as General Service Recruit, complete recruit training, and advance through 2-3 star training to professional chef training at the Defence Forces School of Catering in McKee Barracks, Dublin.

You will gain a QQI Level 5 Major Award and enjoy free meals and accommodation, plus access to medical care and gym facilities throughout training.

Qualifications

• Must be prepared to train as a Trainee Chef in Defence Forces.
• Includes Recruit Training and 2-3 Star training.
• QQI Level 5 Major Award obtained on completion.

Responsibilities

• Learn core military skills and culinary techniques.
• Prepare nutritious meals for Defence Forces personnel.
• Operate within barracks and during deployments when required.
