A leading builder's merchant company based in Carlow is seeking a Trade Sales Advisor. This role involves providing exceptional customer service while maximizing sales and margin targets. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in builder providers and a strong understanding of building materials. You will also be responsible for maintaining product supply and ensuring a tidy working environment in compliance with health and safety guidelines. This is a full-time permanent position offering competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a busy builder providers preferable.
• A proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales and margin targets.
• Good knowledge of Building Material products would be advantageous.
• Previous sales experience an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Build effective working relationships with customers.
• Use initiative to identify sales opportunities and offer advice.
• Achieve sales and margin targets.
• Maintain a clean and merchandised counter area.
• Ensure that company policies are followed at all times when producing paperwork associated with sales
• Responsible for the re-order of selected product lines and also ensuring that stock levels of selected product lines within the Building Materials department are maintained at appropriate levels
• Liaise with suppliers where necessary
• Support the Branch Manager and colleagues in working as a team to ensure the branch operates efficiently and effectively within company policy
• Ensure a tidy working environment at all times in line with health and safety guidelines

Trade Sales Advisor- Carlow

Part of Grafton Group Plc, Chadwicks Group is the market leader in the builder’s merchanting industry in the Republic of Ireland. The core business is through the traditional Builders Merchants division. Main brands include Chadwicks, Cork Builders Providers, Davies & Telfords. In addition, and through organic growth and acquisitions the Group have established a range of brands which are close to the core but offer a uniquely different range of products. These include Heitons Steel, Panelling Centre, Morgans Timber, Proline, Sitetech & Rooney’s Hardware.

Principle Objective

The role of Trade Sales Advisor - Building Materials, is to provide our customers with a knowledgeable, friendly and dependable service whilst at the same time optimising branch sales and gross profit, promote the company's products and services in a professional manner and deliver a superior standard of customer care to our existing customers.

Knowledge & Experience

• Previous experience working in a busy builder providers preferable

Key Responsibilities

• Build effective working relationships with customers, in order to understand their requirements thus ensuring that the correct products are supplied
• Use initiative to identify sales opportunities and offer advice and solutions to customers, thus maximising profitable sales and margin
