Job summary

Howdens Joinery is seeking a Business Developer to grow our local depot. You’ll talk to trade customers face to face and on the phone, build relationships and spot opportunities to increase spend.

In a busy depot team you’ll generate leads, arrange appointments and nurture the pipeline with Kitchen Sales Designers and Territory Representatives, turning conversations into sales. A confident communicator with a target-driven mindset will fit in.

Qualifications

• Confident communicator who talks to customers face to face and on the phone.
• Enjoys building relationships and turning conversations into opportunities.
• Commercially minded with a focus on driving sales and adding value.
• Self-motivated, positive and proactive.
• Organised and reliable with ability to manage customer activity and pipelines.
• Experience in telesales, account management or a customer-focused role is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Calling existing trade customers to build long-term relationships and grow future business.
• Using customer data to spot inactivity and bring accounts back on track.
• Managing a targeted customer list and achieving daily call activity levels.
• Keeping up to date with customer projects to identify opportunities to add value and drive repeat business.
• Arranging surveys and appointments for Kitchen Sales Designers.
• Promoting products, offers and events to keep customers engaged.
• Supporting administration, including invoicing and general depot tasks.
• Working closely with the wider team to help the depot hit its targets and deliver great service.
