Job summary

Truwood Ltd. in Ireland is seeking a Machinist to operate wooden cutting and shaping equipment and to work unsupervised when required. The successful candidate will manage their own time whether working alone or as part of a team, ensuring timbers are machined to specification.

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations, wearing protective gear, checking machines, and keeping logs. Training may be provided to cover additional duties.

Qualifications

Experience operating drum sander, morticer, spindle, surface planer and six cutter.
Ability to read and interpret drawings and measurements.
Good communications skills.

Responsibilities

To ensure a safe working environment.
To be familiar with and adhere to all Health and Safety regulations.
To wear protective equipment provided.
To machine timber as per drawings in a safe and cost effective manner.
To check machines before operating and report faults.
To ensure machine maintenance is carried out when necessary.
To keep machine and surrounding areas clean and free from waste.
To complete daily log on machine.
To undertake any other duties appropriate to the post delegated by the manager or directors.
