Job summary

Cootehill Precision Engineering is seeking a skilled Material Cutter / Bandsaw Operator for our busy production workshop in Ireland. You will operate band saws to cut metals or plastics to project specifications and engineering drawings.

You will read job orders, prepare materials, and ensure cuts meet exact lengths and tolerances. The role requires attention to detail, a reliable work ethic, and adherence to health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating bandsaws in manufacturing or workshop settings.
• Ability to read work orders and technical drawings accurately.

Responsibilities

• Machine Operation: Safely set up, adjust, and operate industrial band saws.
• Precision Cutting: Cut raw stock to precise length and tolerances.
• Material Preparation: Read and interpret job orders, cutting lists and technical drawings.
• Quality Control: Inspect finished cuts using measuring tools.
• Material Handling: Load and unload raw stock and finished materials safely.
• Maintenance & Safety: Monitor blade wear and maintain a clean work area.
