Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Threat & Vulnerability Analyst to identify and assess cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and exposures impacting business operations, technology platforms, and regulatory obligations. You will transform vulnerability data into actionable recommendations to proactively reduce cyber risk.

You will partner with Vulnerability Management, Security Operations, Threat Intelligence, Infrastructure, Cloud Security, Application Security, and Risk teams to prioritize remediation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in cyber security, computer science, information technology, or related field.
• Experience in cyber security, vulnerability management, threat intelligence, security operations, or related fields.
• Experience analyzing vulnerabilities and risks in large enterprise environments.
• Understanding of attack methodologies and cyber threat actor behaviors.
• Familiarity with vulnerability scoring (CVSS).
• Experience with vulnerability management platforms such as Zafran, Qualys, Defender VM.

Responsibilities

• Analyze vulnerability scanning results across infrastructure, cloud, endpoints, applications and containers.
• Assess new vulnerabilities, CVEs, and advisories to determine exposure.
• Prioritize remediation using CVSS, exploitability, threat intel, business criticality, asset context.
• Track remediation activities and report on vulnerability reduction initiatives.
• Support validation and verification of remediation efforts.
• Identify and assess attack paths and security weaknesses across the enterprise.
• Support CTEM activities and exposure reduction programs.
• Analyze internal and external attack surface risks.
• Assist with threat-informed remediation strategies.
• Monitor emerging cyber threats, adversary activity and industry trends.
• Evaluate threat intelligence feeds and vulnerability disclosures.
• Collaborate with SOC, Threat Intelligence, Penetration Testing, Infrastructure, Cloud Engineering, App Security, and Risk teams.
• Support remediation discussions with technology owners and business stakeholders.
• Participate in cyber security projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
