Job summary

St Michael’s Hospital Operating Theatre invites applications for a Staff Nurse in our Operating Theatre. This is a full-time, permanent position in the Nursing Department, offering 37.5 hours per week and a five‑day elective theatre with no on-call requirement.

The successful applicant will be registered with NMBI, hold a BSc in Nursing with a Higher Diploma in Theatre Nursing or willingness to undertake within two years, and demonstrate strong teamwork and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Registered with Nursing & Midwifery Board Ireland.
• BSc in Nursing.
• Evidence of ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Recent experience in an acute hospital / operating theatre.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Higher Diploma in Theatre Nursing is essential, or willingness to undertake within 2 years of commencing position.
• Excellent interpersonal skills essential.
