Job summary

Dunnes Stores is seeking an experienced Textile Compliance Manager to lead supplier compliance, ethical trade and product traceability across the textile supply chain. The role emphasizes ensuring EU/UK regulations, ethical sourcing programs, and transparency through audits, certifications, and accurate HS coding.

It is a Head Office-based role with international travel opportunities to support suppliers and drive improvements.

Qualifications

  • Degree or relevant qualification in Sustainability, ESG, Supply Chain or a related discipline.
  • Experience in fashion quality assurance, supply chain logistics, or factory auditing is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management, translating EU regulations into practical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Ethical social governance: audit garment factories for fair wages, safe conditions, and elimination of forced or child labour; align with WRAP standards.
  • Risk management: ensure textiles comply with EU REACH and US Prop 65; coordinate with labs to secure certificates before shipments.
  • Sustainability & traceability: audit certifications (e.g., GOTS), verify COA, ensure accurate fibre %, country of origin, care labels; manage EPR reporting and HS codes.

Job Description Dunnes Stores is Ireland's leading retailer positioned at the cutting edge of food and fashion retailing. We are Irish owned and operate over 130 stores across Ireland, Northern Ireland, and Spain, as well as a growing online store. We are expanding our service and product offering for our customers all the time. As our product offering continues to grow, we're seeking an experienced Textile Compliance Manager to lead supplier compliance, ethical trade and product traceability across our textile supply chain. This role will play a key part in ensuring compliance with evolving EU and UK regulations, supporting ethical sourcing programmes, driving supply chain transparency, and preparing for the rollout of Digital Product Passports (DPPs). We're looking for someone with experience in compliance, ethical trade, sourcing or quality assurance within the fashion and textile industry, together with a strong understanding of supplier auditing, sustainability, traceability and regulatory requirements. This is a Head Office-based role with opportunities for international travel to support suppliers and drive continuous improvement across the supply chain. Key Responsibilities
  • Ethical Social Governance - working with third-party audit partners to audit garment factories for fair wages, safe working conditions, and the eradication of forced or child labour. Enforcing strict social compliance agreements aligned with global standards like the Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP) framework.
  • Risk Management - Ensuring all textiles across apparel and homeware comply with EU REACH Regulations and US Prop 65. Working across departmentally to ensure high risk products are risk assessed for mechanical hazards, including secure attachment of small parts, drawcord safety lengths, and fabric flammability ratings. Coordinating with chemical testing labs to secure official certificates of compliance before production shipments leave manufacturing hub.
  • Sustainability & Traceability - Substantiating eco-friendly marketing claims (e.g., "organic cotton" or "recycled polyester") by auditing certifications like the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). Ensuring our cotton programmes are documented for chain of custody to verify source origins and comply with strict import regulations. Verifying that apparel and home products are accurately listed for fibre percentages, country of origin, and care instructions in accordance with EU Regulations Packaging EPR Compliance: Managing Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) reporting for polybags, hangers, and shipping boxes to meet EU packaging waste reduction targets. Assigning correct Harmonised System (HS) codes to apparel lines to guarantee accurate customs duty payments during international shipping.
Experience Requirements
  • Degree or relevant qualification in Sustainability, ESG, Supply Chain or a related discipline
  • Experience of working directly in fashion quality assurance, supply chain logistics, or factory auditing would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to EU regulatory requirements into practical business solutions.
