Job summary

Dunnes Stores in Ireland is seeking a Labelling & Packaging Technologist to drive compliant, sustainable packaging and labelling solutions across our product ranges. You will work with Buying, Design, Quality, Product Development and Sourcing to ensure packaging and product labeling meet regulatory and sustainability goals.

We are looking for candidates with packaging technology or textiles experience who can deliver high-quality, commercially effective solutions and help optimise our supply

Qualifications

• Degree or relevant qualification in Textile Technology, Packaging Technology, Product Development, Supply Chain or related discipline.
• Knowledge of apparel and homeware labelling regulations and sustainability standards.
• Understanding of packaging materials including paperboard, corrugated board, plastics and sustainable alternatives.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Excel and PLM systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical requirements into practical business solutions.

Responsibilities

• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure care labels, fibre composition, country-of-origin information and CE/UKCA markings comply with legislation and standards.
• Product & Packaging Compliance: Ensure packaging meets environmental, safety and regulatory requirements, including PPWR and FSC standards where applicable.
• Sustainability: Identify and implement sustainable packaging solutions, including recyclable and biodegradable materials.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Buying, Merchandising, Design and E-commerce teams to develop packaging solutions.
• Artwork & Data Management: Review and manage packaging artwork, multilingual copy, barcodes and product information, ensuring accuracy.
• Supply Chain Optimisation: Standardise packaging formats, hangers and sizing systems to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Quality Assurance: Evaluate packaging performance, conduct durability testing and assess print quality and label application.

Working closely with Buying, Design, Quality, Product Development and Sourcing teams, you’ll be responsible for ensuring product and packaging compliance, driving sustainability initiatives, managing packaging artwork and data, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency across the supply chain.

• Artwork & Data Management: Review and manage packaging artwork, multilingual copy, barcodes and product information, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Supply Chain Optimisation: Standardise packaging formats, hangers and sizing systems to improve supply chain efficiency and reduce operational costs.
• Quality Assurance: Evaluate packaging performance, conduct durability testing and assess print quality and label application to ensure product integrity throughout distribution.

Qualifications & Skills
