Job summary

Dunnes Stores in Ireland is seeking a Retail Buyer to plan, develop and source trend-driven ranges that meet the department's budget targets. You will partner with the Department Merchandiser to build seasonal budgets, manage supplier relationships, and ensure pricing, quality and sustainability standards across in-store and online channels.

Responsibilities

• Build the financial budget and range plan per season in partnership with the Department Merchandiser
• Deliver a commercially viable balanced product range at competitive prices for region and online
• Analyse all aspects of sales performance in conjunction with merchandiser - product, colour, size, region & Online
• Ensure sustainability targets are integrated into the department plan and met
• Manage supplier relationships to evaluate performance on quality, reliability, sustainability & price
• Coordinate with suppliers and factories to ensure standards of quality and innovation
• Collaborate with Design / Buyers to align commodities with brand aesthetics and price architecture
• Translate key fabric and trends into consumer products true to brand attributes
• Benchmark competitors and develop action plans to stay ahead in-store and online
• Work with Merchandiser to agree sales budgets, stock intake and monitor on-line performance
• Review OTBs and forecasted performance and react accordingly
• Maintain quality standards by agreeing specs and making key judgments on styling and fit
• Approve styling, fit details and size grading with technical team
• Ensure all safety elements are adhered to
• Identify key seasonal items for press and media coverage and ensure quantities meet store/online demand
• Sign off merchandising plans with store operations and visit stores regularly for customer insight and feedback
• Coach and develop team through on the job training and mentoring
• Liaise with department Head to monitor individual and team development
