Job summary

Alstom Ireland is seeking a Test & Commissioning Lead to drive on-site testing and the seamless integration of transportation systems in Dublin. You will lead testing campaigns, coordinate with engineering teams, and ensure safety, quality, and timely handover to the client.

The role requires a strong background in electrical/mechanical integration, fault analysis, and leadership to manage interfaces across multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Degree/HNC (or recognised equivalent) in an engineering field.
  • Proven experience in system testing and commissioning in rail or industrial projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on-site testing and commissioning activities ensuring safety and compliance with project specifications.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams to validate installation and interface of systems.
  • Capture and report non-conformities and ensure they are properly managed and closed.
  • Document and report progress, non-conformities, and final approvals.
  • Support handover of fully tested systems to the client within agreed timelines.

Your future role

We're looking for a Test & Commissioning (T&C) Lead to ensure the safe and efficient integration of transportation systems. You'll work alongside people who show up with ownership, passion, and dedication. We will look to you for:

  • Lead on-site testing and commissioning activities ensuring safety and compliance with project specifications.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams to validate installation and interface of systems.
  • To comply with projects T&C QCD commitments, acting as Work Package Owner, in compliance with Cost Performance Reviewprocess.
  • Efficient and transparent interface with the Warranty Implementation teams working in customers depots.
  • To capture and report non-conformities and ensuring they are properly managed and closed, liaising with engineering, validation, RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety), manufacturing and site Quality during the commissioning process to achieve operational readiness.
  • Document and report progress, non-conformities, and final approvals accurately.
  • Support handover of fully tested systems to the client within agreed timelines.

  • Degree/Higher National Certificate (or recognised equivalent) in relevant engineering field or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in system testing and commissioning within rail or industrial projects.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems integration (in particular earthing & bonding, cabling, protection and instrumentation, )
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder coordination capabilities.
