Job summary

HSE is seeking applications for a Temporary Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist in Ireland. The role involves delivering expert psychiatric assessments, diagnoses, and ongoing care for children and adolescents within a multidisciplinary CAMHS team.

The successful candidate will lead clinical care, work with nursing, psychology, social work, and other partners, and contribute to governance and service development. Registration and CAMHS experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Irish Medical Council in Psychiatry.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland.
• Demonstrated experience in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-focused care.
• Access to transport.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultant-led psychiatric assessment and treatment for children and adolescents.
• Deliver evidence-based care in line with HSE policies, national standards, and best clinical practice.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
• Participate in clinical governance, service development, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and support to non-consultant hospital doctors and other healthcare professionals.
• Contribute to on-call and emergency psychiatric services as required.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
