Job summary

Circet Ireland & UK are looking for a Fibre Splicing Engineer to join our Dublin team and serve the Leinster region, with nationwide travel and out-of-hours work as required on live fibre networks.

The role involves splicing, installation, testing, and fault finding across the network, reading test results, and maintaining high safety standards. You will work independently and as part of a team to meet KPI targets and company commitments.

Qualifications

• A good understanding and practical experience in Fiber splicing and network build.
• Knowledge of telecommunication infrastructure and FTTP.
• Ability to work in a team and focus on individual goals; reading test results for troubleshooting.
• Full/clean driving license; willingness to work outside normal hours.

Responsibilities

• Prep and splice fiber optic cables as laid out in the splicing matrix.
• Have experience with various splice closures.
• Operate an optical power meter & testing/Fault finding.
• Read and understand test results for troubleshooting.
• Be willing to work outside normal hours if required.
• Ensure the highest standard is maintained across the network.
• Proving and cable installation of cable through UG Ducts and internal cable routes when required.
• Installation of optical fiber cable, bundles and blown fiber tubing using fiber blowing equipment to required standards, including fault finding on existing network.
• Live network Fusion splicing using Fujikura 70s or similar.
• Splicing and testing of external optical fibers to the end customer premise in line with quality standards using OTDR /ILM/PMD/CD/EXFO FTB200 or similar.
• Working as an individual and as a part of team to achieve targets and KPI's.
• Adherence with Health and Safety legislation.

Circet IRELAND are looking for a Fibre Splicing Engineer to join our team in Dublin and wider Leinster region. The works will be predominantly located in Leinster region however there will be nationwide travel and out of hours working required as part of the role due to the nature of the works which are undertaken on live fibre networks.

Knowledge & Skills Requirements:

• A good understanding and practical experience in Fiber splicing and network build
• Knowledge of telecommunication infrastructure and FTTP
• The ability and desire to work as part of a team but be focused on individual goals
• Ability to work at heights and confined spaces
• Ability to work in all weathers
• Knowledge of Microsoft package - word, excel etc
• Knowledge of health and safety practices including risk assessments.
• A Full/clean driving license is essential
• CSCS/CSR qualification would be an advantage
• IPAF Certificate Cherry Picker (Desirable)
