Job summary

MCS Group is recruiting an experienced Techno-Functional Business Analyst for an urgent banking implementation programme in Dublin. This hands-on role bridges business and technology, requiring end-to-end banking product delivery experience, strong API, SQL and data analysis skills, and the ability to manage workshops and requirements.

Qualifications

• 8+ years delivering technology-enabled change in banking.
• Experience delivering at least one end-to-end banking system implementation.
• Strong API, SQL, and data analysis skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication.
• CBAP, Agile or API certifications preferred.
• Hands-on experience with REST and SOAP API integrations.

Responsibilities

• Lead workshops and translate business needs into clear functional and technical requirements.
• Create detailed user stories and manage the backlog through JIRA and Confluence.
• Map existing banking processes and identify opportunities for improvement and automation.
• Support REST and SOAP API integrations, including payload and endpoint validation using Postman and Swagger.
• Use SQL for data validation, reconciliation and analysis across Oracle or MS SQL databases.
• Support data mapping, migration, ETL and data governance activities.
• Work closely with development, architecture, testing and business teams.
• Support SIT, UAT and regression testing throughout the implementation.

You’ll need previous experience delivering at least one end-to-end core banking or banking product implementation, alongside strong API, SQL and data analysis skills.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead workshops and translate business needs into clear functional and technical requirements.
• Create detailed user stories and manage the backlog through JIRA and Confluence.
• Map existing banking processes and identify opportunities for improvement and automation.
• Support REST and SOAP API integrations, including payload and endpoint validation using Postman and Swagger.
• Use SQL for data validation, reconciliation and analysis across Oracle or MS SQL databases.
• Support data mapping, migration, ETL and data governance activities.

What we're looking for:

• 8+ year's experience delivering technology-enabled change.
• Strong banking experience across areas such as Financial Crime/AMLA, Customer, Payments, Lending, Retail or Corporate Banking.
• Experience delivering at least one large-scale banking system implementation from end to end.
• Strong hands-on understanding of APIs, SQL, databases and system integrations.
• Experience with Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• CBAP, Agile or API-related certifications would be beneficial.
