Technician - Roads/Transportation

Roughan & O’Donovan is looking to recruit a technician with three to seven years' relevant experience to join our expanding transportation team in Dublin

Job Type: Permanent

Location: Sandyford, D.18

About the role

As a technician in our roads/transportation team, you will primarily support urban transport and light rail projects, particularly at interfaces with road/pedestrian infrastructure.

While experience in light rail is desirable, it is not essential, and candidates with a background in transport design are encouraged to apply.

Essential

• A minimum of a relevant Level 6 higher certificate

• A minimum of three years’ relevant experience in developing drawing outputs for transportation projects

• Good technical knowledge and engineering skills

• Flexible, motivated and focused

• Excellent attention to detail

• Capable of producing quality design outputs

• Good knowledge of AutoCAD

• A desire to learn and develop

• Comfortable working in a busy work environment

• Fluent or highly proficient in spoken and written English

Desirable

• Knowledge of Irish Design Standards e.g. DMRB, DMURS, National Cycle Manual

• Experience with 3D roads design software e.g. Openroads, MX, Civil 3D

• Experience of working within a BIM environment

• Experience of liaising with clients and stakeholders, including service and utility companies

• Experience on light rail projects
