The Client and overview of the opportunity:
My Client are a Leinster-based, Irish-owned D&B Fit Out specialist that have been trading 20+ years and turnover in the region of €80M per year.
They take on projects from c.€4M and the largest project that they've completed was €65M+.
Generally their projects last 12 months+ but they do also take on the typical 12-16 week turnarounds.
They have completed projects for major Multi-Nationals but also have regular work from several of Dublin's landmark Hotels.
Due to picking up several large contracts and an internal promotion, I am looking for 2no Technical Services Managers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage one large or a several smaller projects to ensure that the MEP aspect of the project is co-ordinated and documented in accordance with plan and building compliance.
- Coordinate mechanical and electrical subcontractors to ensure works are carried out in the correct sequence and to program.
- Review M&E drawings and specifications for accuracy, completeness, and buildability.
- Assist in developing and maintaining M&E installation schedules.
- Ensure M&E works comply with Irish regulations, building control requirements, industry standards, and project specifications.
- Participate in design reviews to identify potential issues or clashes early.
- Liaise with design consultants to resolve technical queries and discrepancies.
- Monitor the quality of M&E installations throughout the construction phase.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and workmanship standards.
- Review method statements, risk assessments, and commissioning documentation.
- Act as the main point of contact between site operations, M&E subcontractors, and the design team.
- Attend site coordination meetings and circulate minutes or updates as required.
- Support the Site Manager and Project Manager in managing M&E-related queries and instructions.
- Assist in preparing commissioning plans, ensuring all systems are tested, balanced, and demonstrated.
- Review and compile O&M manuals and handover documentation.
- Ensure all required certifications are completed and submitted.
Requirements:
- Time serviced experience (Plumbing, Electrics) or a Degree/Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical, Building Services, Construction Management or similar.
- This could be your first role after coming off the tools but ideally you'll have 2+ years' experience in an M&E coordination or building services role on Irish construction sites.
- Understanding of Irish building regulations, BCAR, and industry best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Good knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, fire protection, plumbing, and related building services systems.
- Familiarity with BIM, AutoCAD, Procore, or other project management software is an advantage.
- Strong organisational and planning abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Valid Safepass and Manual Handling certificates are desirable.
