Job summary

MCS Group, partnering with an innovative Irish SaaS business, is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager to join the Product & Engineering function. You'll sit within engineering rather than customer delivery, working with engineering and product leaders to drive delivery excellence across complex technical initiatives.

This role focuses on bringing structure to fast-moving teams, improving delivery processes, reporting on metrics, and ensuring initiatives align with business priorities.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering complex software or SaaS projects.

• Experience managing multiple workstreams and priorities.
• Data-driven approach using KPIs/OKRs to improve outcomes.

• Experience using Jira or similar project management tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of complex technical initiatives across multiple engineering teams.
• Manage cross-team dependencies, risks and priorities.
• Partner with Engineering and Product leaders to improve planning and execution.
• Identify bottlenecks and improve engineering processes.
• Champion Lean and Agile best practices across the organisation.
• Define and report on key engineering metrics including delivery performance and team health.
• Help translate company objectives into measurable engineering goals and OKRs.
• Create dashboards and reporting that provide clear visibility of project progress.
• Act as the key link between Product & Engineering and the wider business.
• Support resource planning and ensure engineering effort is aligned with business priorities.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Unlike traditional project management roles, this position sits firmly within engineering rather than customer delivery. You'll work alongside engineering and product leaders to drive delivery excellence, improve ways of working and ensure complex technical initiatives are delivered successfully.

The Role...

As Senior Technical Project Manager, you'll become a key member of the Product & Engineering leadership team, helping coordinate large technical initiatives from planning through to delivery.

You'll work closely with engineering managers, product managers and technical leaders to manage dependencies, improve delivery predictability and ensure teams remain focused on delivering value.

You'll also play an important role in driving continuous improvement across engineering, introducing better processes, meaningful delivery metrics and data‑driven decision making.

About You...

You’ll likely come from a background in Technical Project Management, Technical Delivery or Engineering Programme Management and have experience working within modern software engineering teams.

You’ll ideally have:

• Experience delivering complex software or SaaS projects.
• A strong understanding of software development lifecycles and Agile delivery.
• Experience working closely with engineering teams and technical stakeholders.
• Excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience managing multiple workstreams and competing priorities.
• A data‑driven approach, with experience using KPIs, OKRs and delivery metrics to improve outcomes.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and non‑technical teams.
• Experience using Jira or similar project management tools.

Competitive salary on offer of between 90 and 100k.
