Job description

Job type: Full-time, permanent

Salary: €38,000–€42,000 per year, depending on experience

Take on repairs that are actually interesting

If you’re an experienced technician who is bored repairing the same devices repeatedly, Creative IT offers something different.

Our workshop handles everything from phones, tablets and laptops to Macs, gaming computers, custom builds, data recovery, consoles and specialist electronics. No two days are identical, and you’ll have the opportunity to work on devices and faults that many repair shops simply don’t accept.

You’ll have access to a well-equipped workshop, a steady flow of varied technical work and the autonomy to take ownership of repairs from diagnosis through to completion.

This is a customer-facing technical role. You won’t spend the entire day isolated at a repair bench: you’ll also speak directly with customers, explain your findings and help them decide whether a repair, upgrade, trade-in or replacement is the best option.

If you enjoy solving technical problems, dealing with people and having variety in your working day, this could be an excellent fit.

What we offer
  • A salary of €38,000–€42,000, depending on experience
  • Five working days over six, with no Sunday work
  • A wide variety of devices, faults and technical challenges
  • A properly equipped workshop
  • The autonomy to diagnose problems and take ownership of repairs
  • Opportunities to expand your knowledge of board-level and specialist repairs
  • Direct customer contact and the satisfaction of seeing jobs through from start to finish
  • A small team where good work is noticed and individual contribution matters
  • Scope to progress towards a senior technician or workshop-lead position
The role

This position combines workshop repairs with customer service.

Between customers, you’ll work through your allocated repairs. When someone arrives at the counter or needs technical advice, you’ll assist them professionally and then return to your repair work.

You’ll be trusted to organise your workload, maintain accurate job records and raise issues early if a repair is delayed or requires a second opinion.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Diagnosing and repairing a broad range of computers, phones and electronic devices
  • Managing repairs from initial assessment through to testing and completion
  • Speaking with customers and gathering accurate information about faults
  • Explaining technical problems and repair options in clear, straightforward language
  • Preparing accurate quotations and setting realistic expectations
  • Keeping repair tickets, technical notes and customer updates current
  • Following established workshop processes and checklists
  • Helping to maintain an organised and efficient workshop
What we’re looking for

You don’t need to have repaired every type of device we handle. However, you must have strong hands‑on experience in at least two of the following areas:

  • Smartphones and tablets
  • Windows laptops and desktop computers
  • Apple Macs
  • Custom-built or gaming PCs
  • Gaming consoles
  • Board‑level or electronic repairs

You should also have:

  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving ability
  • The ability to organise and complete work without constant supervision
  • A practical understanding of repair quality and realistic turnaround times
  • The ability to manage interruptions without losing track of your work
  • Confidence speaking with customers about technical problems
  • A calm and professional manner, including when delivering difficult news
  • Good written documentation and attention to detail
  • The judgment to know when to proceed independently and when to ask for a second opinion
  • A self‑motivated and dependable approach
  • The ability to contribute positively to a small team
Experience that would be an advantage
  • Previous experience in a computer, phone or electronics repair shop
  • Board-level diagnostics, microsoldering or component replacement
  • Data recovery and operating‑system troubleshooting
  • Experience with ticketing or job‑management software
  • Experience using RepairShopr
  • Technology retail or customer‑service experience
  • Experience recommending and selling upgrades, accessories or replacement devices
