Job summary

Abbott Ireland, Finisklin Road, Sligo, is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to lead the operations manufacturing team. You will drive product quality, production efficiency and customer service levels while ensuring EHS and GMP standards are met.

The role requires a third-level qualification in science or engineering, plus around 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing healthcare or pharmaceutical setting, with a focus on continuous improvement and Lean leadership.

Responsibilities

Working within the Operations Manufacturing Team, you will be responsible for ensuring business goals of product quality, production efficiencies and customer service levels are achieved and ensure all EHS regulations and procedures are adhered to. This will be achieved through the effective supervision and motivation of the manufacturing team while maintaining a harmonious employee relations climate. The position reports into the Manufacturing Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Directly supervise the manufacturing team in your area to ensure that the service, quality and cost objectives are achieved. Demonstrate use of metrics to track performance versus goals.
• Ensure safety standards are met and safe-working practices adhered to.
• Ensure all procedures are adhered to and that all GMP requirements are maintained.
• Motivate employees and build teams to support the plant's policy of continuous improvement
• Carry out performance appraisals, identify training needs and agree training plans.
• Ensure all direct reports are fully trained and maintain all relevant training records up to date.
• Optimise the use of human resources by encouraging an atmosphere of involvement, open communications and effective teamwork.

Experience & Education:

• You will possess a Third level qualification in a Science or Engineering related discipline,
• 3 years staff supervisory experience in a relevant manufacturing healthcare or pharmaceutical environment is preferable.
• A Supervisory course is preferable
• Proven experience of operating successfully within a quality-controlled environment would be an advantage.
