Job summary

Avista in Dublin is seeking a Team Leader (Individual Support Staff) for the It’s My Life programme. The role supports individuals with disabilities in a community-based, person-centred model that emphasises active citizenship and quality outcomes.

The successful candidate will lead the It’s My Life team in Dublin 15, ensuring flexible scheduling, collaboration with families, and safe, individualised supports aligned with Avista’s ethos.

It’s My Life provides an individual support service within Avista. The It’s My Life team currently have an opening for a community connector. This is a wonderful opportunity to join our team. We are looking for candidates who are committed to supporting individuals with disabilities and their families, in an individualised, community based, socially inclusive manner, in accordance with our core values and ethos and underpinned by quality, innovative best practice, and research

It’s My Life Individualised Supports, are recruiting Community Connectors in the Dublin 15 area. The successful applicant will work with supported persons, on an individual basis to explore new opportunities, make connections based on the person’s interests and support the person’s ability to self-direct their life.

PERMANENTFULL TIMECONTRACT (35 hours per Week)

*Salary subject to Relevant Public Sector Experience and pro-rated for hours of work.

• Training or Education in ‘Social Role Valorisation’ or ‘Supported Self Directed Living’ (SSDL).
• To have very good leadership, communication, team working, planning and organisational skills.
• Ability to be flexible with working hours in order to meet the supports for the individual.
• The ability to partner and liaise effectively with the person, their family and those who support them.
• To be abilities focused and have a strong desire to see the person lead a valued life in terms of home, family, work, social-life, relationships and support.
• The ability to be creative and innovative.
• To be a good observer, a critical thinker and good problem solver.
• Experience in supporting people in individualised ways.
• Full clean manual driving licence.
• Proficiency in the English language.
• Project Management Skills and Experience
• Completed or working towards management qualification.

Applicants should possess Level 1 behavioural competencies of Avista competency framework.
