Job summary

Agoda is seeking a Tax Platform Director who will own Agoda’s proprietary tax platform and lead end-to-end product strategy across global tax regulations. The role reports into the FinTech leadership and involves managing senior PMs, driving multi-year transformations, and aligning with Booking Holdings brands.

The position is Bangkok-based with relocation provided, requiring strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, and cross-team collaboration across distributed teams.

Qualifications

• Experience building or transforming in-house tax platforms at large-scale digital businesses.
• Strong understanding of indirect tax (VAT/GST) and related data needs.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into product outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Agoda’s global tax platform covering master data, determination, invoicing, reconciliation, reporting, and controls.
• Partner with Group Tax to translate regulatory, audit, and business requirements into platform capabilities.
• Lead multi-year transformation initiatives to support multiple products, models, and brands.
• Make buy-vs-build decisions for tax engines and related services; own integration strategy with vendors and internal platforms.
• Collaborate with engineering to shape architecture and prioritize investments; ensure reliability at scale.
• Design governance for tax configuration and change management; drive governance rigor.
• Define success metrics and report progress to senior leadership.
