Job summary

Forvis Mazars Ireland Limited in Dublin is seeking an experienced Manager to lead the R&D Tax Credits & Incentives Team. You will manage a portfolio of clients, oversee complex claims and guide junior team members through technical and commercial challenges.

You will collaborate with partners to grow the practice, build long-term client relationships and deliver practical tax advice in a fast‑moving environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in R&D tax or related advisory environment.
• Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CTA, CPA or an equivalent qualification.
• Strong understanding of Irish R&D Tax Credit legislation and Revenue requirements.
• Proven experience managing client relationships and overseeing multiple engagements.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of R&D tax credit and innovation incentive clients across a variety of industries.
• Lead the preparation, review and submission of R&D tax credit claims.
• Manage all stages of engagements, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, accurately and within deadlines.
• Liaise directly with clients, Revenue and other stakeholders throughout the claim process.
• Conduct technical and financial reviews of qualifying R&D activities and associated expenditure.
• Advise clients on maximising available tax incentives and identifying additional funding opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
• Support Partners in the development and execution of business development and marketing initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to introduce additional Forvis Mazars service offerings to existing and prospective clients.
• Manage, coach and develop junior team members, providing ongoing guidance and technical support.
• Participate in internal training initiatives and contribute to the development of team knowledge and expertise.
• Assist with practice management, resource planning and operational improvements within the R&D team.

The Position

We are seeking an experienced Manager to join our growing Research & Development (R&D) Tax Credits & Incentives Team in Dublin.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with innovative Irish and international businesses across a range of sectors, helping them access valuable R&D tax credits and innovation incentives. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of clients, lead complex R&D tax credit engagements, develop junior team members, and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.

Working closely with Partners and senior leadership, you will provide practical and commercially focused advice while building long‑term client relationships. This role offers significant exposure to technical tax matters, business development initiatives, and leadership opportunities within a rapidly growing service line.

Ideal Candidate

• Minimum 5+ years' experience in R&D tax, corporate tax, innovation incentives, grant funding or a related advisory environment.
• Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CTA, CPA or an equivalent qualification.
• Scientific, engineering, technology or technical background would be advantageous.
• Strong understanding of Irish R&D Tax Credit legislation and Revenue requirements.
• Proven experience managing client relationships and overseeing multiple engagements.
• Excellent project management and organisational skills.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify business development opportunities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated people management, mentoring and coaching experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
• High level of professionalism and commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
