Job summary

PwC Ireland is seeking an R&D Incentives Senior Manager/Manager to lead and deliver complex R&D incentive projects for technology and engineering clients in Ireland. You will engage with client engineers, design and finalise R&D tax credit documentation, and drive data-driven analyses to optimise incentive claims.

Responsibilities

• Engage with client engineering teams to identify qualifying R&D projects for tax credits.
• Collaborate with client teams to prepare focused R&D incentive documentation.
• Design processes leveraging client data to prepare analyses and reports.
• Analyse costs and expenditures related to R&D activities for credits or grants.
• Assist in preparation, review and finalisation of financial files for R&D incentive programs.
• Support delivery of R&D incentive programs and client relationships.

About the role: The PwC R&D incentives group is the leading provider of R&D Incentive services to technology and engineering companies in Ireland. Our team provides consultancy services to large multinational and indigenous Irish technology companies in assisting them with their R&D Incentive programs, such as R&D tax credit claims. The R&D tax credit and RD&I grants play a critical role in attracting high-value investment to Ireland and driving Irish innovation jobs.

• Engaging with client engineering teams to identify which technology or engineering projects may qualify for the R&D tax credit
• Collaborating with the client engineering teams in the preparation of focused R&D incentive documentation for relevant projects and assisting them with the finalisation of these documents.
• Design of processes with client engineering teams leveraging their underlying systems and data to prepare analysis and reports.
• Analysis or modelling of the costs and expenditure incurred by the client in relation to R&D activities and reviewing with the client what could be included in their R&D tax credit claim or RD&I grant or other incentive program.
• Assisting with the preparation, review and finalization of the financial files in relation to the R&D Incentive programs.

What you will do

As an R&D Incentives Manager or Senior Manager you'll work as part of a dynamic and exciting team that comprises 20 people with a broad range of diverse professionals ranging from electronic engineers, mechanical engineers, computer scientists to tax and accounting professionals. You'll work on complex and challenging assignments and gain experience working with interesting clients - from the largest multinational organisations to Irish start-ups working on cutting edge research and development. Specific responsibilities include but are limited to:

• Being a key member of the R&D Incentives management group working on a challenging, varied and exciting technology and engineering client portfolio.
• Engaging with client engineers that are at the cutting edge of research and development in their field of science and working with a team that has a high-value impact on these organizations through their R&D incentive program measures.
• Assisting the team in managing client relationships and in delivering our R&D Incentive programs with clients.
• Collaborating with the team to grow our business and enhance our service offerings, building your own portfolio within the team strategy.
• Working with the team to embrace digital transformation and to drive the implementation of digital tools to make our processes and offerings more efficient.

Who we are looking for

• A computer science, data analytics or engineering qualification or a strong technology industry background combined with finance/business qualifications or experience.
• Minimum 5 years post qualification experience within industry or professional services.
• Strong verbal and written communication specifically in report writing.
• Good relationship management - ability to read situations and modify behaviour to build quality, diverse relationships with both internal stakeholders and clients.
• Strong digital and technical skills.
• Excellent organisational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
• Good team worker and good mentoring skills.
• Ambitious with a strong commitment to self-development and progression.
