Job summary

Moore Ireland seeks a Tax Manager (Compliance) to lead corporate tax compliance for a domestic client base with exposure to international structures. The role can be based at any office, including Galway, Cork, and Dublin, with hybrid working options.

You will manage a compliance portfolio, review junior staff deliverables, engage with clients on tax matters, and drive tax technology initiatives while supporting WIP, billing and collections.

  • 3-5 years’ post-qualification experience in a tax compliance role

Responsibilities

  • Compliance Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio primarily focused on corporate tax compliance, ensuring timely and accurate compliance with all relevant tax obligations.
  • Review of compliance deliverables prepared by junior staff, ensuring quality and accuracy.
  • Client Engagement: Act as a key point of contact for clients on compliance matters, including advising on the impact of tax law changes and responding to Revenue correspondence.
  • Technical Research: Conduct research on tax technical compliance and advisory matters, including the application of evolving tax developments.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across departments to deliver coordinated and efficient client service.
  • Mentoring and Development: Support the development of junior team members through mentoring, coaching, and on‑the‑job training; contribute to performance appraisals.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the enhancement of compliance processes, including the use of tax technology and transformation initiatives.
  • Financial Oversight: Assist in managing working capital, including WIP, billing, and collections, in line with departmental targets.
  • Corporate tax consulting: The role has scope to expand with assisting in corporate tax consulting projects for both domestic and international clients.

Description

Moore is a leading Irish provider of accountancy and advisory services for smart, commercially ambitious enterprises seeking the highest standards in client service and expertise. Due to ongoing growth in our tax group, we are currently seeking to recruit a Tax Manager (Compliance) to join our tax team. With excellent opportunities for career progression this is a position which can be based at any of our office locations, including Cork, Galway, Dublin and Dun Laoghaire. The role focuses on providing high quality tax compliance services to a predominantly domestic client base, with exposure to international clients and multinational group structures.

Key Responsibilities

Experience and Qualifications Required
  • CTA; an accounting qualification is an advantage but not essential.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ post-qualification experience in a tax compliance role, ideally within a professional services environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of relevant corporate tax legislation to include Group loss relief, Start-Up Reliefs, R&D Tax Credits, Capital Allowances for Intangible Assets, Foreign Tax Credit Relief etc.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and project management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver high-quality service.
  • A collaborative team player with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
  • Demonstrated interest in process improvement and tax technology is a plus.
