Job summary

Salesforce in Dublin, Ireland is seeking a Tax Analyst to join the in-house EMEA tax team, focusing on direct tax matters across the EMEA region.

You will help ensure accurate tax compliance, assist in tax planning, and work with Controllership and global tax colleagues in San Francisco and Hyderabad to drive timely reporting and risk management. The role reports to the Senior EMEA Direct Tax Manager and involves audits, transfer pricing, and intercompany projects.

Job description

  • We are looking for a dynamic, proactive Tax Analyst to join our in-house EMEA tax team that is responsible for all direct tax matters in the EMEA region
  • The Tax Analyst will report to the Senior EMEA Direct Tax Manager and will be based in Dublin, Ireland
  • EMEA Tax team is based in Dublin, Ireland and is led by the VP of EMEA
  • EMEA Tax team works closely with the wider tax team based in San Francisco and Hyderabad as well as with internal teams based in EMEA
  • The focus of this position is to ensure direct tax compliance across the EMEA territories in which the company operates, to assist in tax planning initiatives and to work with EMEA business teams in achieving their goals while managing tax risk for the group
  • The Tax Analyst will be specifically responsible for ensuring accurate and timely submission of tax returns and payments, calculations of periodic tax provisions and assisting in areas such as tax audits, acquisition integrations and transfer pricing
  • The individual will drive trust, efficiency and the communication of information within the EMEA Tax team, as well as to the Controllership organization and business partners in order to facilitate collaboration
  • Assist the Senior EMEA Tax Manager and broader tax team in meeting tax compliance deadlines for payments and assisting in preparing and reviewing tax return work-papers and tax returns
  • Assist the EMEA and US tax team in the preparation of quarterly and yearly tax reporting under US-GAAP (FAS109), including true-ups
  • Review of EMEA quarterly and year-end tax packages and FIN48 positions
  • Develop professional relationships with personnel in the Controllership organization and the global tax team
  • Liaise with external advisors
  • Assist the Senior EMEA Tax Manager and US based Transfer Pricing group in analyzing transactions and ensuring appropriate documentation
  • Assist with the preparation and update of transfer pricing documentation (including preparation and review of intercompany agreements)
  • Assist with managing outsourced transfer pricing projects. Other:
  • Assist Senior EMEA Tax Manager and other members of the international tax team on M&A projects
  • Work with Senior EMEA Tax Manager on implementation of local tax planning initiatives
  • Assist with management of withholding tax issues

The successful candidate will have previous experience in tax compliance and business partnership/collaborationThey will be a self-starter, flexible and able to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced environmentAt least 1-2 years’ experience in corporate tax matters gained either in an MNC or in Big 4Degree in law, accounting, or economics. A post-graduate in tax or similar would be beneficialBasic knowledge of US GAAP tax accounting (detailed understanding can be learned on the job)Basic understanding of US international tax principlesGeneral knowledge of European corporate income tax, VAT, stamp tax, and other taxesKnowledge of statutory reportingKeen interest in Salesforce’s business (model)Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate tax matters succinctly to managementHighly structured thinkerGood analytical skills, flexible, creative and results orientedEnjoys working with and in a cross-functional team
