Role Summary

The Tax Accountant will play a key role in managing the company's tax compliance and reporting obligations across multiple European jurisdictions. This role will partner closely with the business and trading teams as well as our external advisors. The successful candidate will ensure compliance across a broad range of tax heads, process improvement and automation, as well as supporting strategic tax initiatives and planning. This role offers the opportunity to combine operational excellence with commercial partnership, contributing to both the day-to-day delivery of the tax function and its ongoing evolution.

This role offers significant exposure to financial markets, trading activities, cross-border tax matters, and business growth activities.

What you'll be doing
  • Prepare and review European tax compliance obligations across multiple jurisdictions, including Corporate Income Tax, VAT, Dividend Withholding Tax (DWT), Financial Transaction Taxes (FTT), Stamp Duties and Transfer Pricing.
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of tax compliance obligations.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, assessing potential impacts on the business and recommending appropriate actions.
  • Support year-end financial reporting, audit processes and tax disclosures, as well as tax audits and tax authority enquiries.
  • Maintain, document, review and strengthen internal tax controls.
  • Ensure tax policies and procedures remain up to date and aligned with legislative requirements.
  • Develop strong working relationships across the organisation, to provide tax advice that supports the business strategy.
  • Take ownership of assigned tax matters, proactively identifying risks, recommending practical solutions and driving activities through to completion.
  • Support HR and Payroll teams on employment tax, PAYE, and global mobility matters.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate tax processes through improved process design, enhanced controls and technology.
  • Contribute to broader finance and ERP transformation initiatives.
  • Assist with expansion into new jurisdictions and new product lines from a tax perspective.
What we're looking for
  • 5+ years' experience in tax compliance or tax advisory.
  • Qualified Tax Advisor (AITI/CTA) or equivalent professional tax qualification.
  • Strong experience in Irish corporate tax and tax accounting.
  • Experience managing multiple tax heads across complex organisations or multiple jurisdictions.
  • Strong understanding of tax governance and internal controls.
  • Experience working with external advisers and managing multiple compliance deadlines.
  • Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to balance technical tax requirements with business objectives.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience within financial services, capital markets, asset management, banking, or proprietary trading environments an advantage.
  • Exposure to UK and European corporate tax, transfer pricing, global mobility, and cross-border tax matters desirable.
  • Experience supporting ERP implementation, finance transformation or business change initiatives advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of tax accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications, as well as accounting systems such as Microsoft Dynamics or Great Plains.
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as Microsoft Dynamics or Great Plains.
