Job description

Our Client

Our client is a leading global financial services organisation with a significant international presence and an established operation in Dublin.

The Tax Department operates as a global team, partnering closely with stakeholders across the organisation to identify and manage tax risk and deliver high-quality tax operations, reporting, compliance and advisory support.

Why should you apply?

This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional with U.S. tax experience to join a sophisticated global Tax function and build specialist experience within financial services.

This is not a traditional tax compliance role. You will gain exposure across U.S. tax reporting, withholding tax, investment tax risk, FATCA/CRS and corporate actions, while working closely with experienced tax professionals and stakeholders internationally.

There is also a strong analytical and technology focus, with opportunities to improve existing tax processes and contribute to automation and reporting initiatives. For someone looking to build a long-term career in international tax, the position offers an unusually broad range of technical exposure.

Who should apply?

We are particularly interested in tax professionals currently working within financial services, asset management, Big 4 or another leading accountancy firm who have gained hands‑on U.S. tax exposure.

  • 3+ years’ relevant tax experience with hands‑on U.S. tax exposure
  • Experience within financial services, asset management, professional services or another relevant international environment
  • Exposure to areas such as U.S. withholding tax, ASC 740, FBAR, FATCA/CRS or U.S. tax documentation
  • Strong technical tax skills with the ability to analyse tax issues rather than purely process or administer tax reporting
  • Advanced analytical and Excel skills
  • Ability to take ownership of workstreams, manage competing priorities and work effectively with international teams
Role and Reporting Lines

Working as part of a global Tax team, you will work closely with colleagues internationally and take responsibility for a varied range of U.S. tax operations and reporting activities.

  • U.S. Tax Reporting – Prepare annual FBAR filings and quarterly and annual ASC 740 analysis of tax positions and liabilities
  • U.S. Withholding Tax – Prepare period-end close and reporting activities across the U.S. withholding tax process
  • Tax Documentation – Prepare Forms W-9 and W-8IMY alongside FATCA/CRS self-certifications and FATCA registrations
  • Investment Tax Risk – Monitor investments which may generate U.S. trade or business income and assess potential tax implications
  • Corporate Actions – Analyse the tax implications of mergers, tender offers and other corporate actions
  • Tax Compliance – Prepare sales and property tax returns and support tax refund claims and audits
  • Business Partnering – Work with Compliance, Risk Controls and other stakeholders to identify and mitigate potential tax implications for investors
  • Automation & Improvement – Identify opportunities to improve tax processes and contribute to automation, reporting and analytical initiatives
