Job Specification
The Company

The client is a consulting firm providing clients with expertise in taxation, business advisory, and accounting services. Founded in 1997, the firm has built a strong reputation for high-quality, partner-led service and a focus on innovative, client-driven solutions.

They have led the field in Ireland in terms of academic research and authored the most authoritative commentary on income tax in Ireland.

The firm serves a diverse client base and is committed to building long-term relationships as its clients’ trusted advisors. Our team works closely with each of our clients to understand their individual requirements and to deliver comprehensive advice tailored to their needs.

Your Role as a Tax Advisor

One of the things that sets the firm apart from others is that we will not pigeon-hole you into a narrow field from which your development as an expert tax advisor is constrained.

You will be part of a collaborative partner-led team in which you will be encouraged to work and advise across the entire range of Irish taxes. This breadth not only keeps your work stimulating but also means that our clients will benefit from comprehensive tax advice that will come from a single point of contact.

The Type of Work You Will Do

The work that our tax team does involve:

  • Providing tax advisory and compliance services to a wide range of corporate and private clients.
  • Preparing and reviewing position papers and tax returns.
  • Interpreting relevant tax law and analysing tax issues.
  • Assisting with tax audits.
  • Drafting commentary on tax matters for issue to clients and inclusion on the firm’s website.
Your Development

You will find that we are fully committed to your training and development. You will have access to a comprehensive programme of knowledge and skills training, as well as individual support and guidance.

With almost 30 years of success as an independent firm of expert advisors, the client will offer you the opportunity to deepen your technical knowledge, accelerate your professional development and reach the highest rungs of the firm.

What we are looking for
  • A qualified accountant with a good academic background, having graduated from university with a grade of at least 2:1.
  • A career-minded individual who wishes to achieve their full potential as a tax advisor. You may already have acquired the Chartered Tax Advisor qualification, but if not, this will not affect your application in any way. Indeed, our preference usually is to admit candidates who will and study for the CTA qualification while working with us.
  • A person who enjoys working in a collaborative team in which fresh ideas and interesting projects are always present.
  • Someone who wants to be a problem-solver and is ever-curious on matters of tax law.
The Location

This is a full-time role based on-site in the heart of Cork city

The Benefits

We offer a market-leading salary, generous pension and a parking spot close to the office In addition, if you are studying for the CTA qualification we will pay for both your CTA study course and your exam fees.

The interview process
