Job summary

WSP in Ireland seeks a civil/geotechnical engineer to work on tailings management facilities, heap leach facilities, water impoundments and waste rock dump design from concept through detail design. You will prepare technical reports, drawings, specifications, bill of quantities and cost estimates, and mentor graduates while travelling within the UK and internationally to support client projects.

A degree in civil/geotechnical engineering with mining/geotechnical experience is required; strong

Qualifications

• Degree in civil/geotechnical engineering with strong soil mechanics background.
• Knowledge of design guidelines and mining/geotechnical concepts.
• Experience with mine waste disposal/facilities and client engagement.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a diverse team from conceptual design through detail design.
• Provide specialised input on tailings, heap leach, water impoundments and waste rock dump design.
• Assist project managers with time, budget and quality control.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, specifications, BOQ and cost estimates.
• Travel to the UK and internationally to assist clients and support construction of designs.
