Job summary

Arup in Ireland invites a Geotechnical Engineer to join a highly specialised team delivering complex multidisciplinary projects across Ireland and Europe. You will contribute to ground engineering design, investigations, and construction support for major infrastructure, with exposure to digital tools and project leadership.

Qualifications

• Honours degree in Civil, Geotechnical or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
• Post-graduate qualification in Geotechnical Engineering or Soil Mechanics is an advantage.
• 3+ years of post-graduate geotechnical design/construction experience.
• Strong understanding of deep excavations, foundations, earthworks, slope stability, and soft ground solutions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver geotechnical design and analysis for foundations, retaining structures, slope stability, and earthworks on major international commissions and Irish infrastructure.
• Prepare high-quality design reports, specs, desk studies, and site walkovers for various developments.
• Plan, supervise, and interpret ground investigations, providing technical support during construction, including site visits.
• Incorporate digital tools, automation, and numerical analysis to enhance project delivery.
• Develop project management and commercial awareness while mentoring junior colleagues.
