Job summary

Amazon Ireland is seeking a skilled software engineer to contribute to Firecracker, an open source virtualization tech used by AWS Lambda and other services. You will work on low-level systems programming, participate in open source communities, and help own and automate operations with on-call responsibilities.

You will collaborate across teams, help improve quality and performance, and invent new features to meet customer needs.

Qualifications

• Experience (non-internship) in professional software development.
• Interest, knowledge, and experience in low-level software engineering and/or systems programming.
• Passionate about working in the open source community.

Responsibilities

• Own and automate operations and contribute new ideas to improve quality and development efficiency.
• Engineer features to meet customer needs and maintain Firecracker as a secure, multi-tenant platform.
• Be a maintainer of the Firecracker open source project with on-call responsibilities and fault-tolerant mindset.
