Job summary

Amazon Development Centre Ireland Limited in Dublin seeks an experienced software engineer to contribute to Firecracker, an open source virtualization project used by AWS Lambda and other services. You will work on low-level software, systems programming, and on-call responsibilities, with a strong focus on reliability, scalability and security.

Collaboration with internal teams and open source contributors is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience (non-internship) in professional software development.
• Interest, knowledge, and experience in the areas low-level software engineering and/or systems programming.
• Passionate about working in the open source community.

Responsibilities

• Your main goal will be to create long-term customer value by understanding needs and engineering features.
• Own and automate operations for Firecracker and related tooling.
• Contribute new ideas to improve quality and development efficiency.
• Be a maintainer of the Firecracker open source project and handle on-call responsibilities.
