Job summary

Hillgrove Hotel & Spa in Monaghan is seeking a motivated Swim Instructor to lead structured swimming instruction for guests and members. The role focuses on safety, fun, and high-quality water experiences across diverse ages and abilities.

Ideal candidates hold a recognised swimming instructor qualification and current CPR/First Aid certification. Flexible availability including evenings and weekends is preferred to support leisure centre operations.

Qualifications

• Recognised Swimming Instructor qualification (e.g. Swim Ireland/STA/ASA or equivalent).
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver swimming lessons to individuals and groups across various ages and abilities.
• Support learn-to-swim programmes and stroke development.
• Ensure pool safety standards and safeguarding procedures are followed.
• Promote confidence and competence in the water.
• Provide excellent customer service at all times.
• Adhere to health & safety, safeguarding, and company policies.
• Assist with leisure centre operations as required.
• Act as a positive ambassador for the organisation.

The Hillgrove hotel & spa, part of the are currently seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Swim Instructor to join our dynamic Leisure Team. This dual-role position is ideal for a motivated professional who is passionate about health, fitness, and water-based activities, and who enjoys delivering high-quality experiences to a diverse range of members and guests.

The successful candidate will deliver structured swimming instruction while maintaining the highest standards of safety, service, and professionalism.

In this role, you will:

Swim Instruction

• Deliver swimming lessons to individuals and groups across various age groups and abilities
• Support learn-to-swim programmes and stroke development
• Ensure pool safety standards and safeguarding procedures are strictly followed
• Promote confidence and competence in the water

General Duties

• Provide excellent customer service at all times
• Adhere to health & safety, safeguarding, and company policies
• Assist with leisure centre operations as required
• Act as a positive ambassador for the organisation

You are a perfect fit if you:

• Recognised Swimming Instructor qualification (e.g. Swim Ireland/STA/ASA or equivalent)
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Passion for health, well-being, and customer experience
• Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
• Pool lifeguard qualification.

Desirable

• Experience working within a hotel or leisure centre environment
• Previous experience delivering group swim lessons.
