Job summary

Vertiv Co in Ireland seeks a Sustaining Engineer to own Busbar PLM, ensure production-ready designs, and drive DFx improvements for safety, quality, and efficiency in an Engineered-To-Order environment. This role requires strong collaboration across functions and a proactive approach to problem solving.

You will provide design support for production issues, coordinate cross-functional improvements, and support NPDI while maintaining ETO design integrity before release.

Qualifications

• 1-3+ years of experience in product design.
• 1-3+ years of experience in 3D modeling / 2D drafting.
• Experience in Design for Manufacturability.
• Experience using Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Sustaining Engineer is responsible for owning and maintaining the Busbar Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system, ensuring accurate, controlled, and production-ready designs throughout the full product lifecycle. This role provides immediate response to design-related production issues, and drives Design for Manufacturability improvements to support safety, quality, and efficiency. Busbar is an Engineered-To-Order (ETO) product, which means each customer order is specifically engineered. This generally leads to higher complexity and variation for departments supporting this product family. This position is ideal for individuals seeking a fast-paced environment that fosters problem-solving and continuous improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain Busbar design Product Lifecycle Management
• Identify and Cross-Functionally Coordinate Design for Manufacturability Improvements (Safety, Quality, and Efficiency)

QUALIFICATIONS

• 1-3+ years of experience in Sheet Metal and Copper Design
