Job summary

Praxis Care is seeking a part-time Support Worker to join a dedicated team, working 19.5 hours per week with pro rata pay. You will support individuals to live independently, follow person-centred plans, and collaborate with Team Leaders to deliver quality care within a respectful, dignified service.

The role requires flexible hours, driving licence is preferred, and the ability to follow policies and procedures while ensuring safety and well-being of clients.

  • Record information according to service reporting guidelines.
  • Follow Health & Safety policies and participate in training.

Job Summary

Note: This is a Part Time position of 19.5 hours per week; the actual salary will be paid pro rata on this basis.

About The Role
Key Accountabilities
  • Support and empower individuals to develop or improve independent living skills as identified in person-centred plans, including assistance with managing domestic or social skills and personal care.
  • Work closely with Team Leaders and managers to prepare and implement individual and group support programmes.
  • Collaborate with other Support Workers and Team Leaders to promote a safe working and living environment, effectively resolving situations that may arise from conflict or challenging behaviours using appropriate techniques and language.
  • Ensure that medication is stored and administered in accordance with Praxis Care’s Medication Policy where necessary.
  • Familiarise yourself with all administrative requirements of the service, ensuring relevant and important information is recorded and logged according to the service's reporting guidelines.
  • Be fully aware of all policies and procedures in place within the service (including Health & Safety), ensuring attendance and participation in all related training.
Requirements of the Role
  • Participate in the company appraisal and staff review process.
  • Adhere to and model the company values, behaviours, and competencies at all times.
  • Carry out all duties of the post in accordance with Praxis expectations, regulations, and policies.
  • Be prepared to take on additional duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Work the necessary hours to meet the needs of the service.
  • Where the role requires sleep‑ins, a minimum additional payment of €101.60 per night applies.

The above‑mentioned duties are not exhaustive, and the post holder may be required to carry out other duties as necessary. It should be noted that stated duties or locations associated with the post may change to meet the future needs of the organisation.

  • Essential: Numeracy and literacy skills; Effective communication skills.
