Job summary

NHS Scotland invites applications for an Allied Health Support Worker to join our Community Rehabilitation Team at Stracathro Hospital, Brechin, delivering rehabilitation across North East Angus. Responsibilities

• Support patients in elective orthopaedic wards with rehabilitation programmes.
• Assist with assessment and intervention following elective surgery.
• Hold a community rehabilitation caseload to maximise independence at home and in local communities.
• Deliver person-centred rehabilitation in inpatient and community settings.
• Support potential physiotherapy interventions in community settings and develop skills while managing own workload.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an allied health support worker to join our Community Rehabilitation Team based at Stracathro Hospital, Brechin providing services across North East Angus. This is an exciting time to join our service as we continue to develop and enhance rehabilitation services, strengthening integrated working across hospital and community settings to deliver person-centred care closer to home.

This varied post offers the opportunity to work across both inpatient and community settings. You will support patients within the elective orthopaedic wards, delivering rehabilitation programmes and assisting with assessment and intervention following elective surgery. In addition, you will hold a community rehabilitation caseload, supporting the enhanced community care support model to enable people to maximise their independence within their own homes and local communities.

The role is primarily focused on supporting the delivery of occupational therapy interventions across both inpatient and community services. There will also be opportunities to undertake physiotherapy interventions within the community.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver high-quality, person-centred rehabilitation. You will be supported to develop your skills while also demonstrating the ability to work independently and manage your own workload.

The ideal candidate will have experience working as an AHP Support Worker, preferably at Band 3 level; experience of working with older adults in a rehabilitation or clinical setting is desirable.
