Job summary

Arcadis offers a paid Internship & Placement in Ireland for students pursuing a degree in Process or Chemical Engineering. The 10–12‑week internship or 12‑month placement provides hands-on experience with signposted training and exposure to real projects and clients, helping you develop technical and professional skills.

You will join the Process Department as part of a multi-disciplinary team handling architectural, process, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, commissioning and construction

Qualifications

• You will be working towards a degree in a relevant subject.
• You will demonstrate typical Arcadian skills including Resilience, Creativity, Analytical Thinking and being a Team Player.
• You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to use your technical knowledge to influence and consult stakeholders.
• Willing to travel and stay away from home (where possible we embrace virtual working)

Responsibilities

• Role accountabilities include working in the Process Department as part of a team of Process Engineers.
• Contribute to design activities for projects within life sciences across architectural, process, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, commissioning and construction management services.
• Develop skills through training and project exposure, including presentations and communication.
• Possible involvement in projects in sterile manufacturing, fill finish, bulk API, oral solid dosage, chemical manufacturing and microelectronics.

Role description

Our paid Intern & Placement programme is designed to give you a hands‑on insight into the work we do as a company and help to develop skills and knowledge within your chosen field. Supported by signposted training, the programme is based on Arcadis’ core values, giving you both technical training and support to help you develop both personally and professionally whilst with us. You will be exposed to real projects and clients and given a range of experiences to immerse yourself into over the course of your 10–12-week internship or 12-month placement.

Role accountabilities

Working in the Process Departmentyou’llbeoperatingas part of a team of Process Engineers conducting various design activities for projects within life sciences.Youwill be part of a multi-disciplinary team, which handles our client needs in the following areas: architectural, process, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, commissioning, validation, and construction management services. You will gain an understanding of how these disciplines interact and the links that Process design deliverableshave toother key activities in a design.

Youwill be continuously developing your capability in process design – through contributing to active projects as well asparticipatingin regular training (both technical and personal) to developa number ofskills (such as presentation, communication, etc). It is likely your work will involve working on projects in some of the following key areas: sterile manufacturing, fill finish, bulk API, oral solid dosage, chemical manufacturing, and microelectronics.

• Accepted degrees: BEng/MEng in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
