Job summary

Arcadis offers a paid Intern & Placement programme designed to give hands-on insight into our work, with signposted training and exposure to real projects and clients over 10–12 weeks or a 12-month placement.

You will join the Process Department as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting architectural, process, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, commissioning, validation and construction management activities. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• You will be working towards a degree in a relevant subject.
• You will demonstrate Arcadian skills including resilience, creativity, analytical thinking and being a team player.
• You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and consult stakeholders.
• You will be willing to travel and stay away from home when required; virtual working is embraced where possible.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Process Department as part of a team of Process Engineers on design activities for life sciences projects.
• Engage in multidisciplinary work covering architectural, process, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, commissioning, validation and construction management services.
• Develop process design capability through active projects and regular technical and personal training, including presentation and communication skills.
• Contribute to projects in sterile manufacturing, fill finish, bulk API, oral solid dosage, chemical manufacturing and microelectronics.

Role description:

Our paid Intern & Placement programme is designed to give you a hands‑on insight into the work we do as a company and help to develop skills and knowledge within your chosen field. Supported by signposted training, the programme is based on Arcadis’ core values, giving you both technical training and support to help you develop both personally and professionally whilst with us. You will be exposed to real projects and clients and given a range of experiences to immerse yourself into over the course of your 10–12-week internship or 12-month placement.

Role accountabilities:

Working in the Process Department you’ll be operating as part of a team of Process Engineers conducting various design activities for projects within life sciences. You will be part of a multi‑disciplinary team, which handles our client needs in the following areas: architectural, process, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, commissioning, validation, and construction management services. You will gain an understanding of how these disciplines interact and the links that Process design deliverables have to other key activities in a design.

You will be continuously developing your capability in process design – through contributing to active projects as well as participating in regular training (both technical and personal) to develop a number of skills (such as presentation, communication, etc). It is likely your work will involve working on projects in some of the following key areas: sterile manufacturing, fill finish, bulk API, oral solid dosage, chemical manufacturing, and microelectronics.

• Accepted degrees: BEng/MEng in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
