Job summary

The Rehab Group in Limerick is seeking a dedicated Student Support Worker for a fixed term of 6 months on a 30-hour per week schedule at Raheen Business Park. The role provides individualized supports to people with additional needs to enable full participation in training and work experience.

You should hold QQI Level 5 Health Care or Social Care and QQI Level 5 Special Needs Assisting, with experience in supporting people with disabilities.

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 Health Care or Social Care required.
• QQI Level 5 Special Needs Assisting or equivalent required.
• Experience with persons with additional support needs preferred.
• Positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn are essential.
• Team-oriented mindset and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Support and assist persons to participate in training and/or work experiences.
• Assist persons with physical disabilities using assistive technology and materials.
• Adhere to Health and Safety standards and report concerns to the Manager.
• Provide personal assistance including personal care and manual handling as required.

Student Support Worker

Job Purpose

To provide individualized supports to persons with additional support needs. Support includes assistance to enable them to fully participate in their programme and other support needs as required during their day.

What We're Looking For

• QQI Level 5 Health Care or Social Care Qualification.
• QQI Level 5 Special Needs Assisting or other equivalent qualification.
• Experience of dealing with persons with additional support needs.
• Positive, proactive attitude with a strong willingness to learn and grow.
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively

Your Responsibilities

• Support and assist persons to fully participate in training and/ or work experience.
• Support persons with physical disabilities in the use of assistive technology equipment, with typing, handwriting, creative materials etc.
• Apply all standards and procedures relating to Health and Safety legislation and maintain the highest levels of safety adhering to policy and procedure in the use of all safety equipment. Report to the Manager any concerns regarding safety and welfare.
• Provide personal assistance as required in all aspects of personal care and manual handling, ensuring comfort and hygiene and adhering to safe practice at all times. Assist in the taking of medication in line with policy and procedure as required.

Closing Date

23rd September 2026

Salary starting from point 1 €27,641.52 to point 5 €31,721.41 pro rata. The 9-point salary scale provides annual progression opportunities up to €36,186.19 pro rata.
