Job summary

Jabil in Ireland is seeking a Student Engineer to provide technical support for resolving production issues, assist in root-cause investigations, and help drive tooling and process improvements in medical device manufacturing environments.

You will work under the Moulding Engineering Manager, develop documentation, participate in experiments and safety and quality programs, and build familiarity with GMP, lean methods, and MS Office tools.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills; good data analysis and problem solving.
• Familiar with MS Office and CAD is desirable.
• Lean Six Sigma knowledge is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to resolve production issues, including machine or tool issues.
• Support problem solving and root-cause investigations.
• Implement continuous improvement projects in process, tooling or operations.
• Assist with characterization and optimization of medical device processes via experiments and tests.
• Develop tooling/documentation, update drawings, and maintenance procedures.
• Support safety and quality programs and GMP compliance.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Student Engineer will provide technical support in resolving production issues in terms of machine or tool issues, scrap reduction or throughput, and support technical problem solving and root cause investigations.

1.0 Key Responsibilities and End Results:

• Provide technical support in resolving production issues in terms of machine or tool issues, scrap reduction or throughput.
• Support technical problem solving and root cause investigations.
• Implement assigned continuous improvement projects in process, tooling or operations.
• Support Medical device product and process characterisation & Optimisation through designing, documenting and executing experiments and tests including participating in FMEA's, DOE's etc.
• Develop tooling or equipment documentation, update drawings, document maintenance procedures, work instructions as required.
• Support all company safety and quality programs and initiatives.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with GMP in all practices, recording of events and processes.
• Ensure compliance with all learnings from all GMP training events.
• Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed, based on the evolution of the company and the requirements of the department/position.
• Other duties as assigned.
