Jabil in Ireland is seeking a NPI-focused plastics process engineer to lead new mould tool introduction, process development, and transfer to operations. This on-site role involves travel 10–50% monthly depending on projects.

You will develop and implement production methods, monitor moulding processes, troubleshoot, and provide technical mentoring to moulding technicians. BS Engineering and 4+ years’ experience required; knowledge of Lean, DOE, and polymer injection moulding is essential.

Qualifications

• BS Engineering or equivalent degree.
• 4+ years of related experience.
• Knowledge of Lean continuous improvement techniques including statistics & DOE.
• Knowledge of polymer materials and injection moulding processing.
• High level of c‑GMP in IS013485, safe working practices and awareness.

Responsabilités

• Implement the start-up of new/existing projects / production jobs, optimizing cost, efficiency and quality.
• Establish and ensure process control and maintains appropriate documentation.
• Monitor the assembly / moulding running in production; troubleshoot problems associated with processes and assist in resolving quality issues.
• Establish processes for new product lines; document product development and changes; evaluate new product performance and monitor new tool design.
• Debug moderately complex problems within a portion of new systems, tooling and automation.
• Implement maintenance changes in process improvements; propose or specify repair alteration of automation while ensuring adequate documentation is maintained.
• Supports all company quality programs and initiatives.
• Timeliness in addressing Quality System Requirements.

Job Description

NPI focused, plastics process engineering role. Leading new mould tool introduction activities; including process development (SIM, decoupled moulding), FOTs at toolmakers, FATs, process transfer to-site and process handover to operations. This is an on-site role, with travel ranging on average 10-50% within any given month (project activities dependant). Summary/Brief: Develops and implements production / processing methods and controls to meet quality standards in the most efficient manner for new and existing moulding processes. Monitors the moulding process; troubleshooting problem processes and assisting in resolving quality issues. Provides technical expertise on various projects / production jobs and processes as required.

Responsibilities

• Timeliness in addressing Quality System Requirements.
• Principles of data integrity must be strictly adhered to.
• All activities to be performed in strict accordance with the Quality Management System.
• Provides direction to operational team members as necessary.
• Provide functional and technical mentoring and coaching to process moulding technicians and other operations teams members to build our knowledge of Scientific Injection moulding across our Value / Customer stream areas.
• Travel as required to support Customer / Value Stream and/or training at vendor/customer sites.
• Constantly seeks to improve work processes; Has a quality-first mentality; Learns from internal and external best practices to apply to her/his work Supports all company Lean Manufacturing principles

Education / Training / Experience

• BS Engineering or equivalent.
• 4+ years of related experience.
