Job summary

DBFL Consulting Engineers Ltd. is seeking a Structural Engineer in Cork who will work autonomously, handle design through to site supervision, and ensure compliance with building regulations.

The role requires familiarity with Eurocodes and Irish Building Regulations and a proactive, adaptable professional ready to contribute to project delivery. The successful candidate will participate in preliminary design discussions, perform calculations, review team drawings, and conduct on-site

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3rd level qualification in Civil or Structural engineering.
• Preferably chartered or near chartered with a minimum of 2-5 years’ experience.
• Advanced knowledge and experience using AutoCAD.
• Hands-on experience using several construction methods and materials.
• Great analytical and mathematical skills to conduct accurate calculations.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Strong work ethic and dedicated to tasks with a positive attitude.
• Flexible approach and the ability to adapt to a new and evolving environment.

Responsibilities

• Preparing preliminary scheme design options for discussion and approval.
• Producing structural design calculations and drawings to Eurocodes and Irish Building Regulations.
• Reviewing drawings and designs from other members of the design team and external consultants.
• Site inspections involving inspecting steel reinforcement prior to concrete pour and general workmanship on site.
• Daily problem solving in order to produce safe, economical, and structurally viable design solutions.
• Liaising with clients, design team and contractors and supporting the growth and the development of the Team.
• Perform other duties as required.
