Job summary

Verizon seeks an Associate Director, Strategic Sourcing for Marketing in a hybrid role based in Ireland. You will partner with the CMO and Marketing leadership, shaping category roadmaps, and driving multi-year sourcing strategies across creative, MarTech, and agency ecosystems.

You will lead a high-performing team, negotiate with top agencies and AI partners, and manage a multi-billion-dollar vendor portfolio while aligning with finance and legal requirements. Hybrid work and travel may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or related discipline.
• Significant progressive experience in Strategic Sourcing / Commercial Category Management at a senior level with executive stakeholder engagement.
• Demonstrated track record managing large-scale spend portfolios (around $1B+) in complex organizations.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a sourcing team delivering strategic transformation.
• Valid right to work in Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary sourcing partner to the CMO and Marketing leadership; co-design category roadmaps aligned to business strategy and growth targets.
• Lead and develop a team of marketing sourcing experts; oversee recruitment, compensation planning, performance appraisals, and career development plans.
• Drive multi-year global marketing category strategies; integrate AI MarTech, generative content tools, and omnichannel delivery platforms to optimize velocity and customer experience.
• Lead high-stakes negotiations with agencies, AI content partners, MarTech providers and vendors to maximize value and establish win-win partnerships.
• Manage a multi-billion-dollar marketing vendor portfolio with budgets aligned to Marketing Finance and leadership, leveraging benchmarking and working capital optimization (DPO90).
• Collaborate with Marketing, IT and Legal to streamline contracting and participate in senior leadership reviews.
• Provide ad-hoc financial and market analyses to inform CMO-level decisions on GenAI pricing and Martech trends.
• Oversee transformation initiatives like rapid AI contracting enablement and agency ecosystem restructuring for faster go-to-market.
