Job summary

Dornan Engineering in Athlone is seeking a Procurement Administrator to join our project teams on exciting mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and HVAC projects.

You will manage day-to-day procurement activities, liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders, maintain records and support tendering, purchasing and supplier performance while ensuring compliance with company policies and quality systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement administration, ideally in construction or engineering.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes and best practices.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic document management systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day procurement activities and support procurement processes.
• Liaise with suppliers, internal stakeholders and key business partners.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, documentation and reporting.
• Support supplier management, tendering and purchasing activities.
• Ensure procurement activities are efficient, compliant and aligned with company policies.
• Reconcile quantities with supervisors and vendors.
• Receive materials, plant hire and ensure storage is secure.
• Adhere to Quality management systems and ensure appropriate document control.
• Physical Inventory Control and verification on the usage of the material.
• Propose and dispose surplus/ scrap material at facility location as per Company procedures.
• Prepare, monitor and update Material Tracking Schedule.
• Closely work with Planning Engineer to ensure materials are available as per the plan.
• Coordinate with Material Manager and Procurement Department for providing details for Material Submittal to obtain Client approval.
• Planning with Procurement Department to minimise the inventory as agreed with Project Manager and prepare Monthly Materials Reports.
• Expedite with Supplier for prompt delivery.
• To ensure correct data is provided to Commercial Dept. for calculation of quantity and cost to complete budget items.
