Job summary

Zurich Insurance Europe AG, Ireland seeks a Business Lines Underwriter for the New Business Dublin / Wexford team. You will underwrite and analyse new business submissions, interact with broker partners, and operate within delegated authority to support financial targets.

The role emphasizes maintaining underwriting discipline, collaborating with Pricing, Risk Engineering, Claims and Finance, and delivering high-quality service to brokers and clients alike.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industry knowledge and underwriting experience.
• Professional qualifications such as CIP/MDI/ACII are preferred.
• Strong numerical and analytical capabilities and deep knowledge of commercial insurance.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and analyse new business submissions in line with Zurich underwriting standards and delegated authority.
• Negotiate terms with broker partners within strategy and appetite while maintaining broker relationships.
• Manage and prioritise new business pipeline and ensure SLA adherence in collaboration with Sales & Distribution.
• Engage with Sales, Risk Engineering and brokers to generate new business opportunities and support client acquisition.
• Maintain underwriting records per regulatory and internal requirements and contribute to training where needed.
