Job summary

DB Recruitment is seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to join a growing finance team in Ireland. You will analyse and control costs across the business, partnering with operations to improve margins, efficiencies and overall financial performance.

The role suits a commercially minded accountant who enjoys working with operations and using financial data to influence business decisions, with responsibilities spanning standard costing, variance analysis and cost reduction initiatives.

Qualifications

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant with relevant certifications.
• 2+ years' experience in cost or management accounting.
• Experience with standard costing and BOMs.
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
• ERP experience with SAP/Oracle/Dynamics is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse product, manufacturing and operational costs.
• Maintain standard costing, material, labour and overheads.
• Investigate variances between actual and standard costs.
• Produce cost, margin and profitability analyses.
• Support month-end close and management accounts.
• Post cost-related journals and accruals.
• Monitor inventory valuation and stock movements.
• Collaborate with operations, procurement and supply chain.
• Develop cost models to assist pricing and investments.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements.
• Produce KPI reports for senior stakeholders.
• Assist audits and maintain financial controls.
• Support ERP and finance-system enhancements.
