Job summary

Arup in Dublin offers a work placement in the Strategy Consulting in Cities, Planning and Design Team. You will support turning recommendations into clearly communicated deliverables and practice creative applications of technology to develop design solutions.

You will attend meetings, contribute to client discussions, perform analytical research, and take a structured, first-pass approach to spreadsheets, reports and analyses under supervision, gaining knowledge and experience from the team.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Strong report-writing and general communication skills.
• Solid planning, analytical and organisational skills.
• Willingness to engage with clients and partners in project development.

Responsibilities

The opportunity

As a work placement student in the Strategy Consulting in Cities, Planning and Design Teamat Arup, you will:

• Support the transformation of recommendations into well-structured and clearly communicated project deliverables.
• Practice creative applications of technology to develop design solutions.
• Utilise communication skills for report writing and visual representations.
• Be able to decipher media reports and the potential effects these may have on our clients.
• Attend and participate in meetings – listen, ask questions.
• Be involved in discussions with team members to gain knowledge & experience.
• Undertake analytical research to develop, document, present concepts.
• Give structure to ideas – lots of “taking a first pass” at spreadsheets, reports, and analyses for discussion later rather than instruction.
• Work on defined tasks under supervision.
