Job summary

KD Group in Castlebar, Mayo, is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement, negotiation and scheduling of materials across multiple projects. You will work closely with Quantity Surveyors, Contracts Managers and site teams to secure best value and on-time delivery.

The role requires strong supplier negotiation, budgeting awareness and the ability to manage multiple projects with accuracy.

Qualifications

• Experience as Construction Buyer or Procurement Manager in construction/engineering.
• Strong negotiation and supplier-management skills.
• Knowledge of building materials and mechanical products.
• Experience with Quantity Surveyors and site teams.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Procure construction and mechanical materials in line with project programmes, specifications and budgets.
• Negotiate pricing, terms and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Coordinate with QS, Contracts Managers and project teams on requirements and schedules.
• Monitor supplier performance and maintain supplier relationships for value and reliability.
• Prepare purchasing, cost and variance reports for finance teams.
• Ensure purchase orders are raised, approved and controlled per procedures.
